Virtual Learning Days

In the event of inclement weather, ECASD schools are allowed two traditional snow days before switching to a Virtual Learning Day.

January 12, 2026 - From today forward, if we have another inclement weather day, it will be a virtual learning day for students.

2025-26 School Closure Student Presentation

Expectations for a Virtual Learning Day:

  • Students should check EMAIL and CANVAS for information from each teacher.
    • Most teachers will have something posted for you to work on at your own pace
    • Complete the work provided to be marked "present"
    • You will have 48 hours to complete the work assigned on a virtual learning day
  • Students should plan to access Microsoft Teams if they have class specific questions on their assignments or what is expected of them during Virtual Learning.
  • Students should be ready to access their learning for the day by the start of first hour (7:30 am.) This can be found through our district learning platforms (Canvas, email.) Teachers will have tasks assigned to students prior to the start of first hour.
  • The Day 1 / Day 2 rotation will remain the same on virtual learning days.
  • Virtual learning days are review focused and will not contain any new learning/material.
  • Attendance: Students should either check in via Teams with each teacher during the day, and/or will have 48 hours to complete their virtual learning assignments from that day in order to avoid being marked absent
