Attendance
Attendance Policies
Attendance and academic performance are closely related. To benefit fully from the instructional program, all students are expected to attend school regularly and to be on time for all classes. The Eau Claire Area School District attendance policies are designed to develop students' punctuality, self-discipline, and responsibility.
Attendance Procedures
Parents/guardians are asked to contact the attendance office between 7:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on the day their student will be absent for a portion or full school day. Please call 715.852.5100 and press option 1 to leave a message in the automated system.
Parents/guardians must provide the school with written or verbal verification of absence. Students must report to the attendance office to pick up an Admission to Class Slip. Should no one call or provide a written note, the absence will be considered unexcused.
Homework Requests
Parents/guardians are asked to call the main desk at Northstar Middle School to request homework for their child. (715-852-5102) Homework requests are granted when a student has been, or will be, absent for 3 or more consecutive days in a week. Requests should be received by the attendance office by 9:00 a.m. of the day of pickup. This timeframe gives the staff an opportunity to recieve the request and respond. Homework pickup arrangements should be made with the office staff where it will be collected.
